Permanent water shares sell to $3000/ML at Macalister Irrigation District auction

Permanent water shares in the Macalister Irrigation District sold to $3000/ML at an online auction on the Southern Rural Water Exchange on Wednesday, 2 April.

Southern Rural Water offered 1,000 ML of high reliability and 441 ML low reliability permanent water shares, sold without allocation for the 2024-25 season.

Southern Rural Water said the water was auctioned from savings achieved as part of the Macalister Irrigation District modernisation project.

Proceeds of the water sales will contribute to funding the modernisation works that have already been completed.
